Budget 2007

  1. This is a really interesting read. It's good that they're renegotiating the mine agreements. There was some financing to connect to the railway in Malawi as well and I like railways.

    Zambia hired 7100 new teachers in 2006. How many teachers are there altogether? It said there are 3 million students.

    Lots to think about.

  2. Yes rail is crucial...
    But the maintainance has been poor. In Lusaka for example the railway lines have become part of market places.

    In 2004 the
    Pupils-teacher ratio > primary level: 45
    Pupils-teacher ratio > secondary level: 29

    I need to check the World Development Indicators 2006 data to see what it is saying..
