Celebrating Searchers! (Enoch Kavindele)

Searchers are Zambians who are making a difference on the ground, and are not waiting for the Government to act. By this definition Enoch Kavindele must count as our latest searcher.

His consortium North-Western Railways (NWR) has agreed a $250-million financing package with lenders from Britain, South Africa and United States to build a rail link in North Western Province. This is good news indeed, and could go some way to encouraging other Zambians to take the initiative and find creative ways of taking full advantage of the rapid development that is taking place in that part of the country. Sooner or later someone was going to do what Kavindele and others have done, it is good that it is a Zambian taking this initiative. Now let us hope the quality of service will be of the highest standard.
