Mine Watch Zambia Conference 2008

If you are free in September, worth checking out the first ever Mine Watch Zambia Conference to be held in Oxford, UK. Don't let the name deceive you, the conference will be all encompassing. Its objective is "to bring together senior Zambianist scholars, a group of young researchers currently engaged in primary research in Zambia and all those interested in the country". I believe this is the first time a non-government conference has been held to discuss Zambia's politics, economy, society, ecology and investment issues. Just people who love Zambia without political inclinations coming to share ideas on the issues that matter. More information here
