Financial Crisis and Low-Income Countries

It just occured to me as I was scanning through the blog that I have not brought this heavily trailed IMF report to your attention - The Implications of the Global Financial Crisis for Low-Income Countries. The interesting bits are in Appendix V.

  1. Summary of the financial crisis:

  2. This crisis started with Ronald Reagon, and his claim that "The 9 most terrfiying words in the English language are: 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help'".

This is what happens when you elect an anti-government government. They sell off state assets to their corporate cronies, drive down wages and create an elite society, with wealth and opportunity limited to a tiny number of people, instead of creating a massive middle class.
