Inflation Statistics - August 2009

The annual rate of inflation, as measured by the all items Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased by 0.3 percentage points from 14.0 percent in July 2009 to 14.3 percent in August 2009. The increase in the annual inflation rate in August 2009 was mainly attributed to increase in the prices of electricity and other non-food items. More detail via the CSO Monthly Bulletin.
