Mine Watch (Lusaka)

Toronto-listed Denison Mines Corporation will launch a uranium mine with the capital cost of $118 million (annual operating cost at $38m) next year. The project would be based in Lusaka where exploration by several foreign firms has confirmed good uranium deposits. Denison intends to mine 18.8 tonnes of uranium ore from the Mutanga and Dibwe open pits and subsequently process the ore into uranium oxide concentrate.
