Zambia Weekly - Week 31, Volume 1, Issue 17, 6 August 2010
I like the recommendation by the Zambia Medical Association about treatment abroad to be sought only after the endorsement of an independent board of specialists. Shouldn't this be the case already? Would this applicable to all ministers, MPs, current and former presidents? I would be interested to see how that board of specialists would put together and how independent they can be, though it's unlikely this would be adopted. Oh well, it's a good thought! And on a side note, how is it that the Veep is also Minister of Justice? How does he find time for those two positions with his duties as Minister of Rebuttals?
I think we should just abolish the idea of people being treated abroad with tax payers' money. I explained my position in a previous post : Are some lives more valuable than others?.
