Mission
Our mission is to create a better Zambia one idea at a time. We do this by :
- Placing economic thinking at the heart of policy debate by providing economically grounded solutions to the social and economic problems facing Zambia.
- Acting as the economic knowledge archive (research and data) on economic issues pertaining to Zambia
- Supporting the emergence of young Zambian thinkers in the field of economics, business and other related areas by giving them a platform to share their ideas for a better tomorrow.

Our vision is underpinned by the following values :
Integrity – putting the obligations of Zambian people above personal interests
Honesty – being truthful and open in our analysis and dealing with the public
Objectivity – basing information and new ideas on rigorous analysis of the evidence
Impartiality – acting solely according to the merits of issue at hand and without regard to political aspiration
Administration
Zambian Economist was founded by Chola Mukanga. He has a wide range of expertise in various economic fields, including justice, transport, public sector, housing, energy and many other areas. He has written extensively for many publications and provided economic expertise to various governments and organisations around the world. He is married to Eunice and currently serving as a Secretary and Elder at a local church. He also serves on the various boards of different organisations. Among his current investment interests includes Brick World Zambia Ltd, an indigenous company based in Lusaka and Solwezi, in an effort to help build Zambia one brick at a time.
